Booking Conditions

Thank you for choosing to book with Lakeside House. We look forward to welcoming you.

When you make this booking you are entering an agreement with us, please read our terms and conditions of booking below.

Confirmation:  We require a deposit of £50 or 10% of the booking, whichever is the larger. When payment clears we will send you an email or letter confirming the booking and giving the outstanding balance which is due on departure. We accept the following forms of payment: cash, cheque with a bankers card, debit cards, credit cards. Unfortunately we don't accept American Express cards.  Payment by debit card (Maestro/Switch/Delta) is free but credit card payments are subject to a 1.25% charge. Cheques are accepted for deposits only. 

Price: The price includes accommodation on a bed and breakfast basis. Extras such as, but not exclusive to, alcoholic beverages are supplementary.

Cancellation and Insurance: Once you have booked your stay, our agreement is a legal contract and any deposit you may have paid is non-refundable. If you need to cancel or make any other changes please contact us immediately. Bookings cancelled up to 14 days before date of arrival will incur no additional fees and subject to availability may be postponed to a later date (an admin fee may apply). If a booking is cancelled later than 3 days before the date of arrival, or in the case of a no-show, the total price of the reservation will be charged.  When booking on-line with booking websites the terms of the booking agent applies so please check.  We recommend that you take out travel insurance to cover you against any cancellation or loss. 

Non-availability: We would only cancel your booking if your accommodation was unavailable for reasons beyond our control. We would do our utmost to find you alternative accommodation, however if this was not possible, or unacceptable to you, then we would refund all monies paid by you. Our liability would not extend beyond this refund.

Arrival: Your accommodation will be available to you from 2.00pm on the day of arrival, unless otherwise arranged. Please let us know if you plan to arrive before this time or if you know you will be arriving after 8.00p.m.

Departure: Please be ready to leave your accommodation by 11.00am on the day of departure. Your bill for the accommodation and any extras or services taken during your stay is payable on departure.

Damage and Breakages: Please let us know if anything in your room is not working or is damaged. Although we accept normal wear and tear you are liable for any breakages or damage which you cause to the accommodation or its contents. Please report these as soon as they occur.

Car Park Permits : There is free parking widely available to the front and side of LakeSide House on a first come first come basis.  In addition to this LakeSide House provides free parking for guests by means of a parking permit for nearby long stay Keswick car parks.  The permits are expensive and in the event of loss a charge of £100 will be made to the card details given at the time of booking.  If returned at a later date (by post or other) then a full refund will be given.  Guests wishing to use this facility must agree to these terms and sign the agreement to obtain a parking permit.

Smoking: Smoking is NOT permitted anywhere on the premises.

Liability: We do not accept any liability for any damage, loss or injury to any member of your party or any vehicles or possessions, unless proven to be caused by a negligent act by ourselves or our employees or contractors whilst acting in the course of employment.

Data Protection Policy: Data gathered during the booking process may be held on a computer. We will keep your information securely and share details only in order to comply with the law.

Boot and Drying Room: The Boot and Drying room is a facility offered to all of our guests for use during their stay. We do not accept any liability for damage or loss of items left in the room. Children are not permitted to enter the Boot and Drying Room at any time. Please ask if you have any questions
